David Luiz Evolution: deadline and release date
EA announced the Hall of FUT David Luiz-inspired Pathway Evolution on 28 October 2026. To qualify as an FC 27 Club Member, you must play both FC 26 and FC 27 by 1 November 2026, subject to EA's Club Member terms.
The Evolution becomes available on 1 November in the Rewards section of the Ultimate Team Evolutions menu. EA says that once unlocked, it can be completed at your own pace. The November 1 date is the qualification deadline, not a stated deadline for finishing the Evolution.
How to unlock the free David Luiz Evolution
EA describes this as an Evolution for an eligible player item, not a free standalone David Luiz player card. It has not yet published all item eligibility restrictions, exact numerical boosts or objectives.
- Play EA SPORTS FC 26 and FC 27 on an eligible account before the 1 November 2026 qualification deadline.
- Check that you meet EA's Club Member terms and restrictions.
- From 1 November, open Ultimate Team, go to Evolutions and find the Rewards section.
- Select an eligible player item, review its preview and choose one of the three David Luiz-inspired pathways.
- Complete the Evolution objectives and claim levels, checking the path and attribute caps before each claim.
Path 1: The Finisher
Inspired by David Luiz's 2014 World Cup free kick for Brazil against Colombia, The Finisher focuses on Shooting, Free Kick Accuracy, Shot Power and Long Shots, plus the Dead Ball PlayStyle.
This looks most attractive for an eligible player who takes set pieces, but the final choice depends on the item eligibility rules and upgrade caps EA reveals.
Path 2: The Champion
The Champion reflects David Luiz's role in Chelsea's 2012 Champions League win. It improves Defending, Physical, Passing and Penalties, and adds a defensive PlayStyle.
This is the natural route to examine first for an eligible centre-back or defensive player, but EA has not disclosed the full numerical boosts or exact defensive PlayStyle.
Path 3: A National Hero
A National Hero takes inspiration from David Luiz's Flamengo period and 2022 Copa Libertadores success. It targets Pace, Physical, Passing and Aggression, alongside a build-up PlayStyle.
For an eligible ball-playing defender who needs mobility or distribution, this path may be worth comparing against The Champion.
Can you change Evolution paths?
Yes. EA says you can switch pathways before claiming an Evolution level, including at the point you claim that level. Once a level has been claimed, plan on that choice being committed.
Use the Evolution Chain Preview to assess future upgrade options, and pay attention to maximum attribute caps. The actual gains depend on your selected item's starting stats.
Important: your player becomes untradeable
EA confirms that when you submit a player item to an Evolution it becomes untradeable while the Evolution is applied. During the active Evolution, you cannot discard the item or submit it to a Squad Building Challenge.
Choose your player carefully and avoid using an item you intend to sell.
Other FC 27 Club Member rewards
EA also lists Red Bull-branded FUT kits and crests, a The Grounds AXP multiplier on supported platforms, and Gareth Bale for Manager Career and Player Career as existing Club Member rewards.
What EA has not revealed yet
As of EA's 28 October announcement, exact numerical upgrades, full eligible player criteria, individual level objectives and the precise defensive/build-up PlayStyles are not provided.
