Future Stars Academy is one of the most important early FC 27 Evolutions
Future Stars Academy lets you take one eligible young ST or CAM through a four-stage Evolution chain. EA has confirmed that the Academy returns during Future Stars, while current tracker data shows the chain is free and not repeatable.
That second point matters most: you only get one choice. Do not submit the first eligible card you see without checking the full player profile, positions, PlayStyles and how you want the card to develop.
Future Stars Academy eligibility
- Maximum 80 OVR.
- Must have ST or CAM as an eligible position.
- Maximum 86 Pace.
- Maximum seven PlayStyles.
- Born after 9 October 2003.
- The Evolution is free and not repeatable.
1. Antonio Nusa — the safest all-round attacking pick
Antonio Nusa is one of the names appearing most consistently across current Academy recommendations. His appeal is obvious: he already has useful attacking positions, strong dribbling, five-star skill moves and a pace profile that sits close to the entry cap.
He makes the most sense if you want a fluid wide attacker or CAM rather than a pure penalty-box striker. Because the Academy offers different upgrade paths, Nusa also gives you room to lean further into dribbling or round out his finishing.

2. Eli Junior Kroupi — best if you want a central finisher
Kroupi is a strong choice for players who want their Academy card to stay central. Current community guides highlight his existing attacking PlayStyles and his ability to play both ST and CAM.
If your squad already has quick wide players and needs someone to finish moves, Kroupi is one of the more natural fits.
3. Geovany Quenda — high-upside wide option
Geovany Quenda is another popular candidate in current Future Stars Academy lists. His starting card is lower rated than some of the obvious choices, which is exactly why the chain can be attractive: the Evolution has more room to transform the card.
He is worth considering if you prefer explosive wide players and want something different from the more obvious gold-card choices.
4. Ibrahim Maza — a creative CAM option
Maza is one of the stronger names if your priority is chance creation rather than just raw pace. He suits players who want the Academy item operating between midfield and the striker.
For a CAM build, pay close attention to the passing and dribbling branches as the later Academy stages unlock. The best path for a creator is not automatically the same one you would choose for a striker.
5. Konstantinos Karetsas — technical and flexible
Karetsas is another candidate appearing in current tracker recommendations. He is the type of card that can benefit heavily from selective boosts because his value comes from technical quality and flexibility rather than just one face stat.
If you enjoy agile CAMs and want a card that can grow into a more complete creator, he belongs on the shortlist.
6. Kendry Páez — EA's own worked example is worth considering
EA uses Kendry Páez as an Academy example, and he is a natural candidate for anyone who values skill moves and central creativity. His starting profile gives the Evolution several useful directions rather than forcing you down one obvious route.
Using EA's example does not automatically make him the best player for every squad, but he is one of the easiest cards to understand when comparing how the path choices affect the final item.
7. Brajan Gruda — a strong alternative if the obvious cards rise in price
Brajan Gruda is another name appearing in current Academy candidate lists and is worth checking if the most popular options become expensive or scarce.
That is especially useful with a one-time Evolution: you do not need the most hyped starting card, you need the one whose final role actually fits your team.
Which Future Stars Academy path should you choose?
The Academy is being released in stages, with different choices focused on areas such as pace, shooting, dribbling, playmaking and physical development. Later stages also introduce PlayStyle choices.
For a striker, prioritise the route that fixes weak finishing, weak foot or physical limitations. For a CAM or wide attacker, dribbling, passing and useful PlayStyles can matter more than simply maxing Pace.
Do this before you submit your player
- Preview the full Evolution chain in-game before committing.
- Check every alternate position, not just the primary one.
- Look at current skill moves and weak foot so you do not waste an upgrade.
- Check existing PlayStyles because later path choices can overlap with what the card already has.
- Pick for your actual formation and chemistry links, not just the highest projected face stats.
- Remember the Academy is not repeatable.
Our pick right now
If you want the safest all-round option, Antonio Nusa is the strongest starting point because of his existing movement, dribbling and attacking flexibility. If you specifically need a central striker, Kroupi is the more natural choice.
The important thing is not to rush. More Academy stages arrive during the promo, so compare the later path choices against your squad before locking in a card purely because it is trending.
