FC 27 The Grounds: How to Start, Join Clubs & Pick Your First Archetype

What is The Grounds?

The Grounds is a new FC 27 social football space that expands the Clubs experience with small-sided matches, Kickabouts, mentor objectives and a route into Clubs.

EA lists The Grounds for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2. It is not the same as a standard Ultimate Team mode and it has its own progression systems.

How to get into The Grounds

On your first FC 27 start, you can reach The Grounds through the opening sequence after the 11v11 warm-up. On later logins it is available from the main menu.

The tutorial introduces the space and your first Mentors before leaving you free to explore the districts and activities.

How to access Clubs

Clubs now sits inside The Grounds through the Clubhouse. EA says you need to finish the tutorial and meet Paulo Dybala before using the Clubhouse to create a Club, join one or accept an invitation.

Traditional Clubs players should therefore expect The Grounds to be part of the route into their usual team experience.

You can change Archetype later

Your first position and Archetype choice is not permanent. EA says all default Archetypes can be switched without spending Coins or resetting consumables.

That makes experimenting early much safer than it may look. Try different roles in small-sided games before deciding which progression path fits how you actually play.

Best first steps

• Follow the Mentor objectives because they introduce the different activities naturally.
• Check Daily, Weekly and limited-time Objectives before playing so you can stack progress.
• Experiment with Archetypes rather than assuming your first choice must be permanent.
• Use small-sided matches to practise individual attacking and defending.
• If you mainly want Clubs, complete the tutorial and meet Paulo Dybala to unlock the Clubhouse route.
