FC 27 Archetypes Update: Attribute Points Reset & Free Rewards

EA is resetting Archetype AP allocations, preserving earned points and giving eligible players Club Coins and an AXP boost. Here are all 13 changes.

When does the FC 27 Attribute Points reset happen?

EA says the update is scheduled to deploy by Thursday 22 October 2026 at 2:00 AM Pacific, equivalent to 10:00 AM in the UK (BST). This is a planned deployment time, not confirmation the update is already live.

The reset affects Archetype Attribute Point allocations in The Grounds and Clubs. You will need to assign your earned AP again after the update. Your Archetype level and total earned AP will not be lost.

What compensation will players get?

EA says anyone who previously created a Pro, and therefore needs to redistribute AP, will receive 5,000 Club Coins and one 1.75× AXP multiplier lasting six matches.

These are Clubs/The Grounds rewards, not FUT transfer-market coins. EA has not specified an exact delivery time in the announcement, so check in game after the update rather than assuming the items will appear immediately.

Why is EA changing Archetypes?

EA says some attributes were classified incorrectly, affecting their AP costs. It is adjusting those costs to reinforce each Archetype's identity and removing Attacking Positioning as a requirement for Archetype Specializations.

An increased AP cost means an attribute will take more points to upgrade; a decreased cost means fewer. These are cost changes, not necessarily direct increases or decreases to an attribute's in-match performance.

All 13 Archetypes: which AP costs are changing?

The following changes are confirmed in EA's 19 October developer update. 'Increased' and 'decreased' refer to AP upgrade cost, not a direct gameplay-stat buff or nerf.

  • Higher AP costs: Acceleration, Short Passing, GK Positioning.
  • Lower AP costs: GK Reflexes.

How to prepare for the reset

EA has not published a new step-by-step menu walkthrough for the reset, so these are practical preparation steps rather than claims about a specific new screen.

  • Before the update, note your preferred Archetype build and which attributes matter most to your playstyle.
  • After the update, open the Archetype upgrade screen and reassign your available AP.
  • Review the revised AP costs before committing to your old distribution.
  • Check Specializations again: Attacking Positioning will no longer be required.
  • Look for the Club Coins and AXP multiplier compensation once EA has distributed it.

Is this a FUT coins update?

No. The 5,000 Club Coins compensation belongs to Clubs/The Grounds, and the announcement is about Pro Archetypes rather than Ultimate Team transfer-market balances.
