FC 27 Title Update 1.0.4 is now live
EA released FC 27 version 1.0.4 on 7 October 2026. The update is focused on bug fixes across Ultimate Team, The Grounds, Career Mode and general stability.
EA specifically says there are no gameplay balance or tuning changes in this update. If matches feel different after installing it, the published patch notes do not include a wider gameplay rebalance.
The FUT Service Unavailable error has been addressed
One of the most useful Ultimate Team fixes targets a Service Unavailable error that could appear after completing a match in FUT modes.
EA lists that issue as addressed in 1.0.4, so players who were seeing the error after matches should check whether it has stopped after updating the game.
Ultimate Team Player Pick visuals have also been fixed
EA has also fixed an issue where base items could sometimes appear with incorrect holographic visuals when opening certain Player Picks.
Those base items were not intended to use the holographic presentation, so this is a visual correction rather than a change to the items themselves.
Career Mode generated wonderkids have been toned down
Manager Career has received one of the more noticeable changes in the patch. EA says it has reduced the number of high-OVR or high-potential players that could be generated.
That directly follows one of the Career Mode issues EA had already discussed after launch, where too many generated players could become unusually strong.
Transfer negotiations and Free Agents get fixes
- Offering a transfer fee significantly above a club's requested price will now still trigger a response instead of being accepted immediately.
- Fixed cases where CPU counteroffers could incorrectly exceed the club's original demanded or guaranteed fees.
- Fixed an issue that could prevent Free Agents from being signed when the Transfer Market was disabled or outside an active transfer window.
Liga MX and Live Start Points fixes
EA says the Liga MX season was restarting in May instead of the intended mid-January timing. Update 1.0.4 corrects that issue.
The patch also addresses a stability problem that could occur when selecting certain teams in Live Start Points.
The Grounds loading and post-match UI fixes
- Fixed situations where viewing the active club from the Player Profile could cause a loading screen that required restarting the game.
- Addressed instances of incorrect post-match UI flow.
Does Update 1.0.4 change FC 27 gameplay?
No gameplay balance or tuning changes are listed in EA's 1.0.4 notes. The update is primarily a reliability and bug-fix patch.
That means the fullback positioning, kick-off goals, interceptions, low driven shots and referee topics discussed in EA's recent Gameplay Developer Update should not be treated as changed by this patch unless EA confirms them separately.
