Start with Foundations before buying a full team
EA's own FC 27 beginner guidance starts with the Ultimate Team onboarding and Foundations objectives. That is the right order: complete the basic steps, collect the rewards and see which players you already own before spending heavily.
Your first squad does not need to be perfect. Early rewards, starter items and simple Chemistry links can cover several positions while you learn how the market is moving.
Your first 7 steps
Complete the opening Ultimate Team tasks and claim every reward before replacing players you may already have.
Look at Daily, Weekly, Seasonal and launch objectives so the matches you play also progress useful rewards.
Some accounts may still be limited by EA account history or Graduated Access requirements. Confirm access before planning trades.
Use good untradeable cards first and spend Coins only where an upgrade clearly improves the squad.
Low-rated, duplicate or special items can have SBC value. Check current requirements before quick-selling useful fodder.
Use lower-pressure modes to find weak positions before rebuilding the team around a viral formation or expensive card.
Worldwide launch adds new pack supply and demand every day. Keeping some Coins liquid gives you room to react instead of being locked into one squad.
Starter Pack choice matters less than your next decisions
EA asks new Ultimate Team players to choose a starter league. That can help with early Chemistry, but it does not lock your club into that league for the season.
Choose a league you understand, then judge every upgrade by what it does for the actual squad you have. Do not overpay simply because a player fits the original starter theme.
If the Transfer Market is locked
New and returning accounts can see different access. EA's Graduated Access system may require in-game Objective Groups before full Transfer Market access is available.

Spend Coins on problems, not hype
Launch-week prices can move quickly when a player appears in a popular squad or tactic video. Before buying, identify what the card fixes: pace at full-back, passing in midfield, finishing up front or Chemistry for a key link.
If you cannot explain why the upgrade improves your team, keeping the Coins is often more useful than chasing the card immediately.
