FC 27 Streamlined SBCs Explained: The New Item Score System Changes Everything

What is a Streamlined SBC?

Streamlined SBCs are a new FC 27 Squad Building Challenge format. Instead of always building a complete XI around traditional requirements, eligible Player Items can be contributed toward a target score across multiple submissions.

That means progress can be incremental: add eligible items, increase the score and continue until the target is reached.

How Item Score works

EA says every Player Item has an Item Score based on OVR, Rarity and Holographic status. Each OVR has a base score, while rarity and Holographic bonuses can increase the amount contributed.

Those bonuses can stack. EA's own example notes that a Holographic Team of the Week item receives both its TOTW rarity bonus and its Holographic bonus.

Why this matters for your club

• Duplicate or spare items can have a clearer use without forcing every challenge into a full XI format.
• Rarity can matter independently from OVR, so two similarly rated cards may not contribute the same score.
• Special and Holographic items can carry extra SBC value because bonuses can stack.
• Partial progress means you can work toward some challenges over multiple submissions rather than completing everything at once.

One launch-week limitation

EA says Streamlined SBCs are available on console and PC at launch, while Companion App support is intended to arrive later in Season 1. If you cannot find the same flow on mobile yet, that may be expected rather than an account issue.
