EA FC 27 Ultimate Team Update: SBC Changes, Evolutions & New Rewards Explained

EA has published its first FC 27 Ultimate Team developer update. Here is what has already changed, what EA is monitoring, and the FUT features it says are being expanded next.

EA has published its first FC 27 FUT developer update

EA released its first Football Ultimate Team developer notes for FC 27 on 1 October 2026, covering early player behaviour, community feedback and features the team is already working on.

The update is useful because it separates changes that are already live from areas EA is still monitoring. Not every idea mentioned in the notes is a confirmed future feature.

FC 27 Coin balances are more than 50% higher than this point last year

One of the most interesting details in EA's update is that player Coin balances are more than 50% higher than they were at the same point last year. EA also says it is seeing strong Transfer Market activity and a higher share of Starting XI players being bought directly from the market.

That does not mean every card will become cheaper or that prices will move in one direction. It does show that the early FC 27 economy is giving players more spending flexibility than EA saw at the same stage of the previous cycle.

Streamlined SBCs are now available in the Companion App

EA says Streamlined SBCs were added to the FC 27 Companion App on 28 September. That means players can complete and manage these SBCs away from their console or PC.

EA plans to keep improving the system with quality-of-life changes. One community request it specifically mentions is the ability to mark or favourite players so they are less likely to be submitted accidentally, but EA has not confirmed that feature for release yet.

Evolutions and squad-upgrade pacing are being monitored

EA says Evolutions are one of the biggest conversations it is following after launch. The team has changed how Evolutions are tuned this year as part of a wider attempt to balance upgrades from Evolutions, SBCs, rewards and the Transfer Market.

For now, EA is monitoring feedback rather than announcing a major Evolution rework. Players should therefore avoid treating community requests as confirmed changes until EA publishes more detail.

More PvE Live Event features and match rewards are planned

PvE Live Events have become the third most-played FUT experience behind Rivals and Squad Battles, according to EA. The developer team says it plans to add more capabilities to Live Events through the opening Seasons.

EA is also watching how end-of-match rewards feel after players hit daily SP limits and weekly milestones. It says the current rewards are only the starting point and that more ways to reward playing matches are planned later in the year.

EA is taking a more focused approach to Store offers and Campaign squads

EA says FC 27 launched with fewer Store offers and changes to how those offers are structured. Campaign squads are also being kept smaller with a tighter OVR spread than in previous years.

The stated goal is to make more Campaign items feel relevant to starting squads instead of having large numbers of cards quickly fall toward discard value. EA says early Transfer Market pricing has shown fewer Campaign items trading at or near discard compared with similar previous releases.

The FUT Gallery and Token Store will keep expanding

EA says the new FUT Gallery will continue to receive new Sets and Token Store updates. The team is also collecting feedback and working through known Gallery issues.

That makes the Gallery one of the systems worth watching throughout the opening Seasons rather than treating its launch version as the finished feature set.

FUTBIN, FUT.GG and FUTWIZ integrations could receive more data

EA says more than 350,000 players have already linked their EA Account with authorised community partner sites such as FUT.GG, FUTBIN and FUTWIZ.

The developer team says it is working toward making more FUT data available through these integrations. EA has not detailed exactly which additional data will be exposed yet.

What FC 27 players should take from this update

  • Streamlined SBCs on the Companion App are already live.
  • Evolutions are being monitored, but a major rework has not been announced.
  • More PvE Live Event capabilities and additional match-reward options are planned.
  • Gallery Sets and Token Store content will continue to expand.
  • EA wants to provide more FUT data to authorised community-site integrations.
  • EA's early data shows higher Coin balances and strong Transfer Market activity.

What happens next?

EA says it will share more progress in the coming weeks and plans to host a FUT-specific Q&A in the official EA SPORTS FC Discord, with the date and time still to be announced.

We will update this article when EA confirms specific FUT changes, patch notes or new release dates.
