EA has acknowledged FC 27 Career Mode launch issues
EA published its first FC 27 Career Mode Developer Update on 29 September 2026, just days after worldwide launch. The update separates issues the development team says it is actively working on from systems it is still monitoring.
That distinction matters. Some of the problems below have fixes in development, but EA has not said that every change is live yet and has not provided a release date for each fix.
Generated players can start with OVRs that are too high
EA says it identified an issue that can cause newly generated players to enter Career Mode with higher Starting OVR ratings than intended. The team says it is working on a fix designed to produce a more authentic balance as new players enter Career saves.
If your save is producing unusually strong generated players, this is therefore a recognised issue rather than simply a change you need to account for.
Playing-time demands can trigger too many transfer requests
EA also says it is working on the frequency of transfer requests linked to playing-time expectations. Players can currently become unhappy and request a move more often than intended when their expected minutes are not met.
For managers rotating heavily or managing large squads, this can make squad management feel more aggressive than expected.
Transfer and loan-listed players are not getting enough offers
Another confirmed area of work concerns offers for players you have listed for transfer or loan. EA says it is looking at cases where listed players receive too few offers.
That can directly affect squad rebuilding because unwanted players may be harder to move on even when you have deliberately placed them on the market.
Team Management and Liga MX progression are also being addressed
EA's developer update also identifies visual changes for the Team Management screen and progression problems affecting Liga BBVA MX and the Clausura phase.
These sit alongside the player-generation and transfer-market work, making the first Career Mode update broader than a single balancing tweak.
Stamina and Dynamic OVR are being monitored — not confirmed fixes
EA says it is following feedback around Stamina and Dynamic OVR particularly closely. Some players like the extra squad-building and rotation pressure, while others want adjustments.
For now, EA says it wants more time to see how those systems behave across longer Career saves before making significant changes. So it would be inaccurate to describe a Stamina or Dynamic OVR rework as confirmed at this stage.
Should you restart your FC 27 Career Mode save?
EA has not told players that they need to restart their Career saves. With fixes still in development and no individual release timing confirmed in the developer update, there is no official basis for saying that every affected save should be abandoned.
If one of these issues is seriously affecting your save, it may be worth waiting for the relevant update before investing much more time. Otherwise, keep an eye on EA's patch notes to see whether a future fix applies to existing saves or requires a new Career.
